Starting From 2026 we’ll begin offering lamb and yak meat shares processed by a USDA certified butchery, Westcliffe Meats. New sales will be announced here with Google Forms for interested buyers (Colorado only) to submit their intent to purchase meat of either a quarter (1/4), half (1/2) or whole animal.
Once the quota of an animal is fulfilled we will contact buyers to collect deposit payment (nonrefundable) and provide details on pickup date and rendezvous location. Buyer can optionally pay an extra fee for us to deliver to your home. Please refer to the pages below for details on pricing of different meat shares that we offers.
How We Raise Our Animals
Here at The Dancing Yak Ranch, we began raising animals for our family’s daily consumption since 2021 — with a simple reason — To get the best quality dairy and meat products and have peace-of-mind about what every animal ate, drank, their habitat, and ensure that they live a low-stress life with deep connection to us.
As our mentor, Leon Lux, once said:
“ Just because you will eventually butcher the animals does not mean you should not give them a good life! ”
This is why all of the animals on our ranch have a name, and our kids snuggle and huddle with them every single day during morning chores. We are deeply connected and appreciating all the animals we raise on the ranch.
Located at an elevation of about 9500 feet in the high plains of central Colorado, we get the cleanest water and air. Our animals enjoy the expansive view of 14ers while free-grazing on the 70+ acres pasture, thanks to our practices of utilizing tame yaks as guardian animals for the ranch. The high elevation also naturally reduce risks of parasites in our animals without using chemical dewormers.
During deep winter months when the ground is frozen by snow, they are being fed with only locally cut, chemical-free native grass hay from our next-door neighbor’s ranch, and they all drink the same clean well water like we do on the property.
No grains.
No vaccination.
No dewormers
No antibiotics.
No hormone.
In an essence, The Dancing Yak Ranch is a micro ranch that focuses on raising all-natural and healthy animals with hyper devotion to each and every animal of our small herd and flock in order to deliver in our humble opinion, the very best quality of meat that no modern commercial ranches or feedlots can offer.
